Mike Blanton

Mike Blanton

Vice President, Professionalism and Ethics

Education and experience: Bachelor of Science from California State University, Long Beach, and a Juris Doctorate from USC.

Mike practiced law for over 20 years and was partner in a Los Angeles law firm prior to joining USC in 2017 as the Vice President for the Office of Athletic Compliance. In 2018, he started the Office of Professionalism and Ethics which encompasses the Office of Athletic Compliance as well. 

Fun fact: Was an avid motorcyclist for many years. 

Victoria Bueno

Victoria Bueno

Intake Coordinator

Education and experience: Studied Political Science at California State University, Long Beach.

Victoria has worked in case management and litigation support, and as a litigation paralegal.

What do you enjoy about being a Trojan? “Having the opportunity to meet, work alongside, and learn from knowledgeable, diverse, and passionate individuals.”

Diane Cole

Diane Cole

Receptionist

What do you enjoy about being a Trojan? “The love and compassion I have for working with people. My years of working here at USC have given me the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people and many knowledgeable experiences I have learned. The Trojan family is like no other.”

Fun fact: “I love going to NFL and NBA games as well as college football, tennis, and boxing matches. I love concerts, traveling, family reunions, and school reunions. My most enjoyable moment is time spent with my grandchildren and raising them after the loss of my daughter.”

Grace Derecho

Grace Derecho

Senior Data Analyst

Prior experience/education: Bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of the Philippines.

Grace spent seven years in project management working in a training and development government organization in the Philippines, 10 years in data analytics working in higher education at UC San Diego and USC. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Fun fact: “I was born and raised in a small city in the Philippines and came to the US over 20 years ago, 10 years of which were spent in San Diego.”

Mark Manley

Mark Manley

Executive Director

Prior experience/education: Bachelor’s in Criminology, Law & Society from UC Irvine.

Prior to USC, Mark spent 24 years with the City of Costa Mesa in Orange County and previously served as a reservist in the United States Coast Guard.

What do you enjoy about being a Trojan? “The USC institution and brand is an iconic symbol in higher education, NCAA athletics, and in the Southern California community. It is a privilege and honor to serve the USC community.”

Joseph Perry

Joseph Perry

Associate Director

Prior experience/education: Bachelor’s in Political Science and History from UC San Diego and Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School.

Fun fact: “In my spare time, I love to bake and appreciate a good loaf of homemade bread.”

Kris Reed

Kris F. Reed

Associate Director

Prior experience/education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Diego State University, master’s degree in Christian Apologetics from Biola University, MBA with a concentration on Human Resources from Louisiana State University, Shreveport, and Kris is a doctorate candidate for Organizational Change and Leadership at USC Rossier.

Kris has worked in Human Resources for over 15 years in multiple industries, from small businesses to fortune 500 organizations.

Fun Fact: “A passionate lifelong learner, I enjoy listening to and playing music – like the drums and poking around with other instruments. Also, I am growing a collection of wild socks that do not match with anything I am wearing.” 

Angie Rigor

Executive Assistant

Prior experience/education: Angie worked at a law firm as a Legal Secretary for 16 years.

What do you enjoy about being a Trojan? “I love working on campus. The spirit of the university is uplifting. I love that it doesn’t feel like an office environment.”
